Maddies Fund was created by Dave and Cheryl Duffield after having fallen in love with a sweet Miniature Schnauzer pup named Maddie. She brought so much joy to the couple that they made a promise to her: “If we ever make some money, I promise we will give it back to you and your kind so others can be as happy as we are today.” As the founders of people soft saw their own wealth increase, they fulfilled that promise by creating Maddies Fund and by endowing it with $300 million to save the lives of dogs and cats.
Maddies Fund has supported Hopalong Animal Rescue as well as other shelters and rescues throughout the United States by the implementation of Maddies Pet Adoption Days, through their Treatable Assistance Program, and through their Community Shelter Data Grant.
Many people are familiar with the Maddies Pet Adoption Days as they have facilitated over 8,000 FREE adoptions nationwide this year alone. However, few people outside of the rescue world know about the Treatable Assistance Program where Maddies Fund helps offset the medical costs incurred by animals needing medical attention. This includes senior pets as well as animals with a variety of treatable medical conditions. Another wonderful program is the Community Shelter Data Grants (2013, 2014) where Maddies Fund helps support the collection and publication of shelter statistics so that we can better track our lifesaving efforts.
We are so happy to work with an organization with such a strong dedication to ending the euthanasia of adoptable pets. And we are so thankful for all their support so that we may continue our lifesaving efforts.
