Personality:  Scout is an adorable and goofy young man.  He's still very active and gets along with all dogs.  Scout also loves children of any age, but because of his size and energy level, he would be best with older kids that couldn't easily get knocked over.  He is house broken and trained to sleep in a crate at night.  Scout is a handsome hound who loves any and all attention.   Like many hounds, he is vocal.  Therefore, he should live in a rural setting where his “talking” won’t disturb the neighbors.

Sex/Age/Weight:Male/neutered, 1 year, 70 lbs

Personality:  Milton was adopted from Hopalong last summer as a young puppy.  He was recently surrendered when the family lost their home due to foreclosure. He has grown into quite a handsome young man, and has gotten quite big!  He is still very sweet, just like we remember him.  He is great with kids and other dogs.  We’re not sure about cats.  He is housebroken.  Unfortunately the first family did not do much training with Milton, so he’ll need somebody to teach him doggie manners and love him forever.

Name:  Miss Hershey 
Mix/Breed  Chocolate Lab

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 7 years, 60 lbs.

Personality:  Miss Hershey is a really nice dog. She would probably do fine in any household, but would prefer to live out her golden years in a quiet and calm household.  Miss Hershey would enjoy long walks more then romps at the dog park. She is good with dogs both large and small and might be fine with a cat.  She's also fine with kids.  Miss Hershey is an easy dog and would be perfect for a first time dog owner. Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 4 years, 20 lbs

Personality:  Clementine is a sweet and affectionate girl.  If you’re looking for a medium activity level dog, she may be the one!  She enjoys daily exercise, but is also happy to hang out on the couch, or a lap if it’s available.  She isfine with dogs, cats, and kids.  She is working on crate training and potty training in her foster home.  Just rescued, more info to follow.

Mix/Breed: Chihuahua mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 4 years, 10 lbs.

Personality: Little Bear is very friendly, outgoing and tons of fun, but he's not hyper. He likes to be picked up and carried around and he is quick to give kisses. But if you let him, he walks well on a leash! He would do fine in a house with other dogs and would also do well with cats given a proper introduction. Little Bear would do well in a house with older kids - and maybe younger kids with proper supervision.  Just rescued; more information to come.

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 1 year, 55 lbs

Personality: If you’re looking for a little bit of pit bull love in your life- Posie may be the girl for you!  She’s a young lady, and is full of energy.  She gets along well with other dogs.  She is very affectionate, and is also quite smart.  She will need an adopter experienced with the breed, and able to take her to basic obedience classes, where we are sure she will be star!  She is working on crate training and potty training in her foster home. No cats or kids under 12.  Just rescued, more information to come.

Mix/Breed:  Dachshund mix

Sex/Age/Weight:  Male/neutered, 9  months, 10 lbs

Personality: Rodeo is quite a spirited little guy!  He loves to be the center of attention. He gets along with other dogs and would probably love an active companion to show him the ropes and teach him who's boss.  At this point, we don't know if he's good with cats.  Rodeo would be fine with kids older than 12.  He is crate trained and almost fully potty trained.

Personality:  Diddy is very playful, energetic and affectionate young pup. He would do well in a house with other dogs, but maybe a bit too energetic for cats. Diddy is a happy fella and he's always up for an adventure or even just a car ride to the mall.

Personality: Butter is a very sweet young boy. He is very puppyish. He needs some training, and he's getting a head start on that in his foster home.  Butter is house broken.  Butter loves to be around people and loves attention. He gets along with other dogs and might be OK with cats who can tolerate his puppy-like energy.  Butter would be fine with kids too.

Personality:  Gwen is a quiet dog that would prefer to cuddle next to you and please you; therefore, she can easily be trained. She works for praise and belly rubs rather than treats. Gwen is both potty-trained and crate trained. Also, Gwen enjoys walks and light jogs rather than playing with toys. She gets along with people, including children.  She's also good with cats.

Personality:  William is a young, goofy guy.  He is happy and aloof, will need basic obedience training. Large breed experience recommended. William is fine with other dogs but cats are unknown at this point.  He'd be best wtih older kids.

Personality:  When Stinkerpants first came from the shelter to Hopalong, he had a broken elbow.  We took him to an orthopedic surgeon, who fixed him all up with screws and pins.  He’s had a month of physical therapy, and now he’s ready for adoption!  He may always have a little limp, but he’s one happy puppy, full of energy.  He is already house trained and crate trained.  He loves to play with other dogs, he's fine with kids, probably not so great with cats.

Personality: Blair is an inquisitive and outgoing puppy.  She loves to explore her new surroundings, but also loves her cuddle time.  Blair is going to be a high energy dog that needs an active family who will give her the exercise she needs.  She'll do fine in a home with other dogs, and she'd be good with older kids too.  But no cats for Blair.  She is working on potty training and crate training in her temporary home.

Personality: Gracie still has a lot of spunk and energy, and although she's completed obedience training, she needs a dog savvy human to lead her.  This girl loves all people and dogs, but no cats please.  Gracie is also wonderful with kids.  She loves going anywhere with her people (especially the dog park) and will be the first to jump right in the car and take the front seat!  Gracie also has good house manners.  She's looking for someone who has the time for her and can tell her what a special girl she is.

Personality:  She loves to be held or to sit on your lap.  She's friendly and outgoing, but can get over-stimulated in some situations.  Therefore, she needs an adopter knowledgeable with the Chihuahua breed and temperament. She's fine with cats, and some dogs.  She would prefer to live in a quite adult only household, with maybe one or two people, and would not mind it if she was the only dog.  Beyonce is crate trained and learning her new potty routine in her foster home.

Personality:  Santana has an outgoing personality. And he's also quite the cuddler who loves to sit on laps and eats up any affection.  Santana has good house manners and is also crate-trained.  He's a great dog who would be fine in a home with other dogs, cats or older kids.  Santana will look more like his breed when his hair grows out!

Personality:  Milo has your typical terrier personality.  He would be best in an adult only household.  Loves to play with other dogs.  He'll bark at the big ones but loves playing with the little ones.  We don't know how Milo would be around cats yet.  What we do know is that Milo loves his people and will kiss you like crazy.

Personality: This  handsome puppy is very well mannered his age. Jasper is smart, affectionate, curious and, playful but not overly rambunctious.  He loves to play with other dogs, and he's good with kids.  Jasper is quickly catching on to potty training in his foster home and also learning some basic commands.  But like all puppies, will need to go to obedience school with his new forever family.

Mix/Breed: TreeWalker Hound

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 6 years, 55 lbs

Personality:  Baxter is a very sweet adult dog. He is a very happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys being with people and other dogs immensely.  He uses a doggie door, has great house manners and is just happy to be part of his foster family. Although Baxter is a bit more hesitant with men and therefore would thrive in either a women-only household or with a family that can take the time to make him feel more secure and trusting of men.  He also needs a home without children.  Baxter loves attention and he'll greet everyone he meets hoping for a pat on the head.  The great thing about Baxter is that he's young enough to be lively and interested in the world around him but old enough to know his manners and be an easy to care for dog.
