Community Partners
Hopalong & Second Chance Animal Rescue are very grateful for the many community partnerships which make our work possible, and to the other animal welfare organizations for the work they do. Together, we are making a difference. From all of us and the direct recipients of those services – our furry friends – we thank you.
We have many partnerships that enable us to help animals in need of a home. We hope you will support the organizations that support us.
PET FOOD EXPRESS is a long-time partner, helping us with donations and allowing us to show our animals at mobile adoptions. They also host Virtual Pet Adoptions which features animals from all the local animal welfare groups in a one-stop shopping website.
PETSMART has given generously to Hopalong and has provided in-store, permanent mobile adoption sites that have helped place hundreds of cats over the years.
PET VET/PET FOOD has donated food and supplies and provides a great low-fee clinic that has served our animals over the years.
YOUR BASIC BIRD in Berkeley adopts out approximately 300 cats a year and was the first permanent adoption site we established 10 years ago. We also do mobile cat adoptions there on a regular basis.
PETCO in Emeryville and Alameda now hosts Hopalong cats on-site in an in-store adoption site!
FENTON’S CREAMERY hosts mobile adoptions for both dogs and cats. They also create a delicious ice cream sundae specifically for us each year for a month. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of these sundaes is donated to us.
ALAMEDA SEE SPOT RUN URBAN PET SUPPLY is a community partner who shares our great passion for animals. A locally-owned, family run store that carries holistic food and supplies, hosts Pet Ambassador Club in-store events with Hopalong Animal Rescue, conducts workshops, dog training, pet grooming, in-store cat adoptions and provides highly personalized service.
HAPPY HOUND DAYCARE fosters dogs for us and offers training from their in-house staff.
WOODLANDS PET FOOD AND TREATS is a new in-store adoption site for our cats in Mill Valley, Greenbrae and San Rafael.
ZILLOW GROUP is a pet-friendly housing resource connecting you to 125 pet-friendly listings in Oakland.
TARGET stores in Albany and Emeryville provide us with donations of cat litter, pet food, and pet supplies on a regular basis.
CLOROX donates thousands of pounds of cat litter and cleaning supplies each year.
