iskiplogo’s 2nd Annual
“Skipalong for Hopalong” Fundraising Event

“It might never occur to you to skip. You might think skipping is for children. But one skipping event with Kim ‘Skipper’ Corbin will change your mind forever! Fun, fitness, freedom, camaraderie… it’s all there!”. ~ Lainie Monsef, age 58

Why? To raise money for a great cause, have fun, and paint the streets with positivity.
Who? Pre-registered Skippers (and walkers) of all ages, shapes, and sizes.

Bring your kids and well behaved dogs and don’t worry if your current fitness level doesn’t allow for skipping more than a few steps at a time because “walking along for Hopalong” is also encouraged.

When? Saturday May 9, 2015
What time? Register: 10:30 am – We skip at 11 am SHARP
Where? Along the Embarcadero in San Francisco from Rincon Park to Pier 39. Meet at the Bow & Arrow in Rincon Park (between Howard & Folsom Streets)
How much? Suggested fully tax deductible donation is $20 and includes an “I love skipping” bumper sticker, a colorful lei, and more! (No skippers will be turned away for lack of funds.)

All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Hopalong & Second Chance Animal Rescue to support their mission of eliminating the euthanasia of adoptable animals throughout Northern California.

With a name like Hopalong which represents the first animal (and 3 legged) saved by Helen Hill 20 years ago that started our organization, it is only natural to partner with to put on an amazing and fun filled event called a skip-along!

What on earth is iSkip you ask?! It’s a fantastic movement founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1999 that promotes the benefits of skipping for fun and fitness. The skipping movement has been featured in USA Today, Time, People, and Newsweek magazines, and we are excited to help them celebrate their 16th Anniversary while raising funds for Hopalong & Second Chance Animal Rescue. Skipping will be encouraged but not required (enthusiastic walkers are welcome too) at this fun fundraising event along San Francisco’s Embarcadero. All money raised goes directly to us, so we are thrilled for this unique adventure and opportunity! Grab everyone you know, put on your sneaks, bring your well behaved dog if you like and come celebrate with us!

Skipping is something that almost everyone did as children, but far too often lose touch with as an adult. Not only does it have all the benefits of a good workout…it generates a tremendous amount of positive energy…and is a lot of FUN too!

This event is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels (and well behaved dogs). Fear not if you don’t like to skip because enthusiastic walkers are more than welcome too! There will be designated skipping zones marked along the 1.5 mile route where short bursts of skipping are encouraged, but not required. Of course, those who are seeking more of a physical challenge, will also have the option of skipping the entire distance.

Bright colors, tutus, wings, and other fun clothing and accessories are strongly encouraged!
