Adopt Me

Meet Bilbo.
Bilbo is a terrier mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation, which at his age (1 year) has made him a little more cautious of the outside world. He is settling into foster nicely though, and loves to run back and forth with his pack of Chihuahua brothers, and explores the yard and the house with confidence. He is starting to wag his tail more at the sound of his foster mom’s voice, and will jump up on the couch to sit next to her and accept pets. He’s very gentle and has never shown any aggression – he just tends to shut down or cower if he gets anxious. He gets braver and braver every day, and his foster mom is working on his recall skills (which is tough for a fearful dog!). He’s very food motivated though so a treat goes a long way towards overcoming his anxiety. Bilbo is learning about potty training from his pack, and despite the weather will try to go outside for potty (but sometimes forgets). But again, he’s a people pleaser so I don’t think potty training will be an issue. He is able to hold it in his crate overnight.
