D.O.G. is: Goofy, loving, energetic, wily, cuddly, smart...THE BEST!
Goofy. If a dog can smile, then he surely does, and with a sparkle in his eye. Always up to play tug-of-war with a favorite toy, “help” you tie your shoes or attempt to climb into your lap during your Zoom work meeting. To answer your question, no, he does not actually fit in a lap.
Loving. Hugs, kisses, back scratches, belly rubs. He loves everyone and is sure everyone loves him back (and they do).
Energetic. Loves walks and is an excellent walking companion. “Easy” is his command and he’ll hang tight next to you (most of the time). Hiking is also a favorite pastime. We haven’t tried a dog park yet - he came to me un-neutered and just had his surgery a week ago. But he clearly wants to play with other dogs. Has been around two chihuahuas with no issue.
Wily. You think those pills are hidden deep enough in the canned food!? Think again. They will reappear on the floor.
Cuddly. He is always happy to curl up on the couch for a Netflix night. But beware...he snores ;) Added entertainment for the aforementioned Zoom calls. You might need to mute.
Smart. See above re: pill sleuthing. He learned within 2-days to wait for me at the top of the stairs so we can walk down together. He now does it at every staircase. He came with some training and has quickly adapted to new daily patterns and commands.
Other...good eater but not overly motivated by food. Likes his crate. Sleeps in it at night and occasionally rests in it during the day. Has adjusted to my sleep patterns and is great about letting me get the coffee started before taking our morning walk. He has been living in my small city apartment, but deserves more space, outdoor area, and would probably be happy in a family with kids.
